Can alcohol be served at a CLE course?


Supreme Court Rule(s) cited in FAQ: Rule 795.

The Rules require that courses “shall be conducted in a physical setting conducive to learning.”  MCLE Rule 795(a)(6).  Given this Rule, alcohol is not to be served on the same day before a CLE course or activity begins or during a CLE course or activity.  Alcohol should not be served at breaks or meals when the participants are returning to CLE courses or activities the same day.  Any activities where alcohol is served may be conducted after the CLE course concludes for the day.
